  • What happens if I lose the key to the car?
    Replacement keys are not included in the vehicle rental contract. Please get in touch with us immediately to discuss the situation. Depending on the particular circumstances, you may be responsible for any costs associated with replacing the keys.
  • How do I add additional drivers to my subscription?
    Our EV subscription comes with a maximum of 2 (two) additional drivers – with every driver added will be charged with an additional costing on top of your monthly subscription fee. These drivers must also meet our qualification criteria. If you want to incorporate additional drivers into your subscription, please contact Autohaus Car Rental team who will be able to assist you in getting them registered on the system.
  • Where can i charge the car?
    There are multiple providers in Malaysia that offer charging services for electric vehicles. Plug-in stations can be found in major cities such as Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor Bahru. A list of public charging stations can be found on the official website of Malaysia’s Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change. Some of the most well-known providers include ChargeEV, JOMcharge, SETEL and Electron by TnB. They all provide EV charging stations throughout Malaysia, including cities such as Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Penang, and Melaka.   • What is not included in the EV subscription?
    The following are not included in your EV subscription: Any fees, fines, or penalties incurred whilst driving your Autohaus Car Rental vehicle Any damage to the car that falls outside of our fair wear and tear guidelines Additional named drivers – you can purchase this as an add-on Additional mileage – which also can be purchased as an add-on Home charging hardware kit Public charging facilities Delivery and collection
  • What's included in Autohaus Car Rental's EV subscription?
    Autohaus Car Rental's EV subscription includes: access to a range of electric vehicles, a simple monthly fee, no hidden costs or deposits, flexible mileage options and roadside assistance, as well as a dedicated team of experts available 24/7.
  • What is not included in Autohaus Car Rental EV subscription?
    Not a lot, but if you'd like you can add some extra bonuses like a spare driver or home charging capability. As the driver, you're also responsible for all parking tickets, charging up the car, and making sure it's always safe to drive.
  • How long will it take for my car to be ready for collection/delivery?
    Once you’ve passed all eligibility checks, your car can be readily available for collection/delivery within 5-7 days, depending on the availability!
  • How long does it take to charge an electric car?
    This depends on the type of charger used. A Level 1 charger (120V outlet) typically takes 8-10 hours to charge a full battery, while a Level 2 charger (240V outlet) can take up to 4 hours. A DC fast charger (480V outlet) can charge an electric car in about 30 minutes.
  • What is an Electric car subscription?
    An electric car subscription offered by Autohaus Car Rental is a type of vehicle leasing program that allows individuals to access an electric vehicle for a set monthly fee. It typically covers the cost of the vehicle, insurance, maintenance, and other services like roadside assistance. This type of service is often more affordable than traditional car ownership and provides greater flexibility to those who don’t want to commit to owning a car for an extended period of time.
  • Can i carry pets in the car?
    Yes – but if you do carry pets in your car, you must have the car professionally cleaned before returning it to us, or you may be liable for a charge. All of our cars undergo a thorough inspection upon return – so your car must be free of scratches, hair, dirt or marks left behind by our furry friends.
  • What to do when the car is damaged in an accident?
    First and foremost, ensure that you are safe. Secondly, try to obtain details of any eyewitnesses and take photos of the damage. Next, contact our team at Autohaus Car Rental and inform them of the accident and the resulting damage. Depending on the specific terms of your agreement, you may be liable for any repairs or replacements that are necessary.
  • Would I need a home charger installed?
    That is completely up to you! If you plan on regularly charging your electric vehicle from home, it may be a good idea to have a charging point installed so that you can charge your car as quickly and conveniently as possible.
  • Can I smoke or vape in the car?
    No - please don't smoke or vape in our vehicles. Should it be found that you have done so, you may be subject to fines and/or additional cleaning fees.
  • How can I be eligible for an Autohaus Car Rental EV subscription?
    To be eligible for our service, you must be: 21 to 65 years of age A Malaysian resident The holder of a full Malaysian driving license Free from driving or motoring offences incurred in the past 3 years Please note these alone do not automatically qualify you to drive with us, as we must adhere to several other requirements.
